Job Responsibilities:
· In the role as Spotfire Developer, you will be responsible for the analysis and development of business intelligence solutions throughout all phases of the project lifecycle.
· You will work as part of a project team delivering high quality and efficient data solutions.
· You will need to be able to clearly and effectively present designs and communicate highly technical concepts to a wide variety of team members and users at varying levels of expertise.
· As the TIBCO Spotfire Developer, you will wear a variety of different hats as you develop Spotfire dashboards and visualizations. You will be responsible for the design, development, documentation, and quality assurance.
· Your duties will evolve over the life of the project as you lead the development process and apply your analytical and problem-solving skills to the various issues that arise.
· In your role as Spotfire Developer, you will be a versatile resource and may be part of the entire data development lifecycle or your duties may cover only certain parts of the cycle, depending upon the needs of the project.
Job Specific duties will include:
o Lead functional requirements gathering and functional design process.
o Lead definition of the reporting solution including report standards, quality, security and management.
o Lead the development of a strategy to support current and future reporting needs.
o Perform quality assurance on designs and development.
o Testing and debugging code, both your own and that produced by fellow team members
o Coordinating with the Data Architect to support data model changes
o Working with end users and development staff to ensure that new and existing data models and databases are consistent with approved data architecture standards
o Migrating and integrating code to production
o Ensuring that QA test plans are executed before releasing product enhancements for user acceptance testing
o Providing production support during client warranty period, troubleshooting and resolving any production issues that may arise
o Conducting performance tuning of anything connected to data systems and ensuring efficient operations and maximizing resources to provide the best results for the client
Job Qualifications:
· As the Spotfire Developer, you must have demonstrated experience, education and credentials as well as familiarity with and the ability to work at all levels of the development process.
· You must have strong organizational, time-management and problem solving skills and the ability to function effectively as part of a team.
· It is vital that you have exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, and that you can present documentation and designs and convey complex information in a clear and concise manner to team members as well as individuals at all levels of the client’s organization.
· You should have a solid foundation in data management and data governance.
· Specific qualifications for the Spotfire Developer also include:
o Bachelor’s Degree preferred or equivalent professional experience
o Experience on large scale Spotfire projects
o Spotfire dashboard and visualization development experience
o Solid information server experience-including information services layer, info model, info links
o Solid understanding of web player concepts
o Ability to elicit requirements from client, design, test, and document dashboards
o Strong SQL skills
o Experience using software development methodologies (SDLC)
o Ability to teach and perform knowledge transfer
o Ability to communicate clearly and effectively answer user questions
o Ability to present demos to users and clients
o Team player, with strong emphasis on knowledge sharing
o Experience with business intelligence tools such as Business Objects, Tableau, Quickview or Microstrategy is a plus
o Ability to work on client site
o Involvement with TDWI, DAMA or data community user groups is a plus
o Consulting experience is a plus
o Related certifications is a plus: TTP, TCP, TCA, CCP, TDWI’s CBIP, Business Intelligence tools, database platforms and Informatica or other ETL tools
· Candidates must have the ability to work at multiple client locations, if necessary
· Candidates may be asked to travel as required
· Candidates must be eligible to work for any employer in the United States
