Position Responsibilities:
 
Create, test, maintain and/or document solutions comprising of MicroStrategy Reports and MicroStrategy/Visual Insights Dashboard or applications (including, but not limited to metrics, filters, templates and prompts), as well as custom SQL reports.
Develop a wide portfolio of reports and dashboards that will support multiple business partners throughout the organization.
Provide intelligence on the capabilities and functionalities of MicroStrategy Visual Insights and identify the optimal data solution.
Ability to work with little or no documentation and ability to reverse engineer the existing MicroStrategy report builder structures.
Facilitate requirements gathering and discovery sessions from business leads.
Design and build internal performance dashboards/reporting, across all areas of the business, with an emphasis on a Leadership Level performance suite.
Collaborate with IT development and user experience teams on the design and presentation of data and analytics for IT based solutions.
Coordinate UAT sessions with business partners.
Take large amounts of complex data and simplify for a general audience.

Position Requirements:
 
Bachelor degree in a quantitative discipline, (Computer Science, or Engineering). MS in a quantitative discipline highly preferred.
3+ years of demonstrated capability on Microstrategy reporting and Dashboarding. 2+ year experience with Tableau is a nice to have.
Must have solid experience in MicroStrategy Visual Insights report builder and Dashboard creation.
Solid experience in Business Intelligence domain and solutions is a must.
Most have solid knowledge of SQL.
Understanding of Excel/Access VBA and Macros, Data Modeling and Statistical analysis is highly desirable.
Experience with EDW (Enterprise Data Warehouse) is highly preferred.
Experience working with large data volumes with superior analytical and quantitative skills.
Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize and complete assignments with minimal supervision.
Strong interpersonal skills including ability to work in a cross functional environment and communicate with all levels of the organization.

• 1+ years of experience in SharePoint is preferred
• Experience developing application code that addresses business and system requirements in adherence to coding standards and best practices within a formal software development lifecycle methodology.

We are seeking a Web Sphere Portal Developer for a very long term contract role.  All of our product offerings are built in an n-tier client-server environment using an ASP.NET/C# front end and a Java/J2EE back end on an Oracle or SQL Server database.  The solutions are modular, allowing clients to purchase and implement one solution alone, multiple solutions installed in a phased approach, or the entire solution.

In this role you will work with our managers, clients and product R&D teams to integrate our new web portal for taxpayer access and self-service into the product suite.  The portal will have a Java-based front end and will be designed using the IBM Web Sphere portal development framework.   4 years of technical experience in design and development on IBM Web Sphere Portals using JSR168 or JSR286, needed.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:

• Bachelors’ degree in Computer Science, CIS, MIS or a related field.
• 4 years’ of technical experience in design and development on IBM WebSphere Portals using JSR168 or JSR286
• 5 years’ experience with Java/JEE technologies
• Experience with MVC frameworks such as Spring, Struts, JSF
• Strong experience in Web Services and Hibernate
• Front End Development using HTML, CSS3, Bootstrap, jQuery, Ajax and JSON
• Development experience using RAD

Summary:

• Looking for a candidate to join our cleint's Business Data Intelligence team (BDI), which is tasked with meeting the reporting and data needs of the client's Business. This includes working with multiple organizations like Customer Operations, Retention, Marketing, Finance and Sales to provide data, reporting, research and analysis to help drive the business and maximize performance.
• The BDI team is looking for a lead developer in Oracle Business Intelligence (OBIEE) v11g. This individual will oversee and expand upon an existing OBI application that is used to deliver critical reports and metrics to the business. The focus of this role will be to ensure the accuracy and usability of the application. Day to day activities will include OBI report development, BI operations and working with end users to validate reports and gather requirements as well as to research issues/anomalies with data, systems and processes. This individual will be part of a larger ten person reporting team that includes developers, project managers and other analysts.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF POSITION INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:

• Must be a subject matter expert in Oracle Business Intelligence (OBI) 11g. This includes knowledge of report development, RPD development and light OBI administration. Proven ability and experience with building complex reports in OBI required.
• Experience with database modeling as it relates to OBI report development. Knowledge of common data models and how they impact OBI. Experience working with database teams.
• Knowledge of the software development lifecycle. Experience with working on a release schedule.
• Knowledge of telecommunications industry a plus. Experience with Customer Operations, Retention, Marketing, Finance and/or Sales reporting preferred. Experience with building scorecards and reporting for these functions.
• Communicates effectively with individuals and teams in the client's Business organization to ensure high quality and timely completion of projects. Builds relationship with management to ensure reporting needs are being met. .
• Deliver reports to management in Corporate and the local markets. Be able to speak to the data, metrics and calculations. Be able to identify potential issues and make recommendations based on the data.
• Provide in-depth analysis of operational data to perform root cause analysis, improve efficiency, productivity and customer satisfaction. Surfaces recurring problems with work processes, policies, or procedures. Suggests ways to resolve problems to serve customers better and/or to improve productivity
• Assists management in identifying and delivering on new reporting capabilities. Able to take reporting asks from idea to implementation
• Represent the client in a professional and positive manner in all situations.
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a reporting analyst and/or supervisor function.
• Strong knowledge of Oracle Business Intelligence (OBIEE) required
• Strong attention to detail and analytical abilities required.
• A high degree of demonstrated decision-making and problem solving is required
• Demonstrated flexibility, problem solving and troubleshooting skills and ability to multi-task
